If there’s one thing we’ve learned after 1.5 years of law school, it’s that you should always look behind you before saying anything about a professor. Not that we’d say anything about a professor behind their back. We’re way too classy for that.

The inspiration from this one is based on a true story. When I worked at a lab at Columbia, the actual lab was upstate, but we lived on the Columbia campus, so grad students volunteered were forced to drive vans to and from work. One such grad student, who shall remain anonymous, looked real sad one day, and when prodded a bit, told us that he had accidentally emailed his advisor “something meant for my girlfriend.” All on account of Autocomplete. Yikes.

This is also Legal Geekery’s nod to Penn State’s new Katz Building. It’s really quite lovely, and for any administrators reading this blog, I quite like it. (Kindly place my check in my mailbox downstairs.)

At Penn State, we have an annual 1L Mock Trial. Oftentimes, the 1Ls are not made aware of the competition until two weeks prior to the actual event; this results in them having to “learn” evidence in a ridiculously short period of time. Or, as the comic suggests, not learning evidence in a ridiculously short period of time.

I am on the 1L Mock Trial board this year, and will be fighting adamantly to prevent this strip from becoming reality once again.
