A New Design, Myst, and Shoes
Well, as you can probably see, Legal Geekery has been given a shiny new makeover. What’s the occasion, you ask? Finals. I need an outlet during finals, or I go insane.
Do you like clippy legeek? I feel like he should be saying, “I see you have a question about substantive due process. Can I help you with that?” But it doesn’t make me feel that way enough to get sued. Especially since Microsoft is flying me out to interview in Redmond next month.
In geek news, Myst Online is being completely released as open source, according to Massively. Apparently that includes all art, and client/serverside code. I’m sort of excited to see what comes of that. How is this law-related, you ask? Well, I’ll never have to perform an infringement analysis.
In slightly-less-geeky but equally-non-law-related news, President Bush got a shoe thrown at him by a member of the Iraqi press1 during an unannounced trip to Iraq. Apparently showing the sole of one’s foot is a huge insult in Iraqi culture. I can only imagine that yelling, “this is the end” is also a threat in most cultures.
I strongly encourage you to check out the video because two things strike me as odd. How did this guy get not one, but two shoes off and thown at the Preisdent of the United States before the Secret Service [slowly] came into the room? Second thing: did anyone actually think that guy could move this fast?
So that’s all for now. How do you like the new site?
