Fallout 3 Song List

Submitted by Joshua Auriemma on Saturday, 8 November 2008302 Comments

Law geeks, you should probably stop reading this now as it will likely be of no interest to you.  Apologies.

So this is where my true geekery comes out.  Fallout 3 was released recently, which is the long-awaited sequel to — you guessed — Fallout and Fallout 2.  It’s a sandbox RPG, and it’s a lot of fun.

The plot has you running around in a post-apocalyptic world, where there is one uncensored radio station, which most people tend to leave on all the time.  The problem is that it seems only a few records from the 40’s survived the nuke, and the same songs are played over and over (and over and over).  So they tend to get stuck in your brain.

Looking at forums, I noticed that no one has really compiled a list of songs and/or lyrics, so I collected them around the web and wrote some for the songs that I couldn’t find.

[edit: As people have pointed out, this list does not include all of the songs created specifically for the video game.  If someone wants to get me a copy of those songs, I'll be happy to transcribe them.  As kotaku noted, I'm avoiding studying.]

Mighty, Mighty Man by Roy Brown

I’m a mighty, mighty man, I’m young and I’m in my prime
I’m a mighty, mighty man, I’m young and I’m in my prime
I don’t [something] I’m ready for a gold ol’ time.

Yes, I’m a real young man, a brand new twenty-five
Oh, I’m a real young man, a brand new twenty-five
Well, I’m willing, I’m able, I’m [something]

Well, I’m six-feet-tall, I ain’t no hand-me-down
Yes, I’m six-feet-tall, and I ain’t no hand me down
Well, I got a gal in town who calls me Good Rockin’ Brown

Oh, I’m a single man, I really don’t need a wife
I’m a single man, and I really don’t need a wife
Yes, I’m gonna [something], oh what a wonderful life.

Oh, I’m a mighty man, I’m young and I’m in my prime
Yes, a mighty, mighty man, I’m young and I’m in my prime
Well, when you want me, holler and I’ll be there on time.

Oh, [something] for the mighty one
Yes, [something] for the mighty one

Yeah, I’ll stay on the job, until the job is done.

Let’s Go Sunning

Let’s go sunning
It’s so good for you
Let’s go sunning
Beneath the sky of blue
Feel as free and happy as the day you’re born

Let’s go native
Sun your cares away
Be creative
Learn to live and play
Pretty flowers need the sun
This applies to every one

Life’s worth living
When nature’s giving
Happiness to everyone
So let’s go sunning

Let’s go native
Sun your cares away
Be creative
Learn to live and play

Pretty flowers need the sun
This applies to everyone
Life’s worth living
When nature’s giving
Happiness to everyone
So let’s go sunning

Anything Goes by Cole Porter

Times have changed,
And we’ve often rewound the clock,
Since the Puritans got a shock,
When they landed on Plymouth Rock.
If today,
Any shock they should try to stem,
‘Stead of landing on Plymouth Rock,
Plymouth Rock would land on them.

In olden days a glimpse of stocking
Was looked on as something shocking,
But now, God knows,
Anything Goes.

Good authors too who once knew better words,
Now only use four letter words
Writing prose, Anything Goes.

The world has gone mad today
And good’s bad today,
And black’s white today,
And day’s night today,
When most guys today
That women prize today
Are just silly gigolos
And though I’m not a great romancer
I know that I’m bound to answer
When you propose,
Anything goes

When grandmama whose age is eighty
In night clubs is getting matey with gigolo’s,
Anything Goes.

When mothers pack and leave poor father
Because they decide they’d rather be tennis pros,
Anything Goes.

If driving fast cars you like,
If low bars you like,
If old hymns you like,
If bare limbs you like,
If Mae West you like
Or me undressed you like,
Why, nobody will oppose!
When every night,
The set that’s smart
Is intruding in nudist parties in studios,
Anything Goes.

The world has gone mad today
And good’s bad today,
And black’s white today,
And day’s night today,
When most guys today
That women prize today
Are just silly gigolos
And though I’m not a great romancer
I know that I’m bound to answer
When you propose,
Anything goes

If saying your prayers you like,
If green pears you like
If old chairs you like,
If back stairs you like,
If love affairs you like
With young bears you like,
Why nobody will oppose!

And though I’m not a great romancer
And though I’m not a great romancer
I know that I’m bound to answer
When you propose,
Anything goes…
Anything goes!

I Don’t Want to Set the World on Fire by The Ink Spots

I don’t want to set the world on fire
I just want to start a flame in your heart
In my heart I have but one desire
And that one is you no other will do

I’ve lost all ambition for wordly acclaim
I just want to be the one you’d love
And with your admission that you’d feel the same
I’ll have reach the goal I’m dreaming of believe me
I don’t want to set the world on fire
I just want to start a flame in your heart

(I’ve lost all ambition for wordly acclaim)
I just want to be the one you’d love
(And with your admission could you’d feel the same)
I’ll have reach the goal I’m dreaming of believe me
I don’t want to set the world on fire
I just want to start a flame in your heart

Way Back Home by Bob Crosby

The roads are the dustiest, The winds are the gustiest
The gates are the rustiest, The pies are the crustiest
The songs the lustiest, The friends the trustiest
Way back home
(Back home)

The trees are the sappiest, The days are the nappiest
The dogs are the yappiest, The kids are the scrappiest
the jokes the snappiest, the folks the happiest
Way back home

Don’t know why I left the homestead
I really must confess
I’m a weary exile
Singing my song of lonliness

The grass is the springiest, The bees are the stingiest
The birds are the wingiest, The bells are the ringiest
(the hearts) the hearts the singiest
(the arms) the arms the clingiest
Way back home

(What about the sun) The sun’s the blaziest
(And the fields) The field’s the daziest
(And the cows) The cow’s the graziest
(And the help) The help’s the laziest
The boys, Are the wittiest
The girls, Are the prettiest
Way back home

The pigs are the snootiest, The owls are the hootiest
The plant’s the fruitiest, The stars the shootiest
The grins the funniest, The smiles the sunniest
Way back home

Don’t know why I left the homestead
I really must confess
I’m a weary exile
Singing my song of lonliness

The food is the spreadiest, The wine is the headiest
The pals are the readiest, The gals are the steadiest
The love the livliest, The life the lovliest
Way back, way back, way back, home
(No place like home)
Home sweet home

Butcher Pete (Part 1) by Roy Brown

Hey everybody, did the news get around
About a guy named Butcher Pete
Oh, Pete just flew into this town
And he’s choppin’ up all the women’s meat

[Chorus]
He’s hackin’ and wackin’ and smackin’
He’s hackin’ and wackin’ and smackin’
He’s hackin’ and wackin’ and smackin’
He just hacks, wacks, choppin’ that meat

Butcher Pete’s got a long sharp knife
He starts choppin’ and don’t know when to stop
All you fellows gotta watch your wifes
‘Cause Pete don’t care who’s meat he chops

[Chorus]

Ever since Peter flew into town
He’s been havin’ a ball
Just cuttin’ and choppin’ for miles around
Single women, married women, old maids and all

[Chorus]

Wakes up in the morning, half past five
Chops from sunrise to sunset
I don’t see how he stays alive
Meat’s gonna be the death of ole Pete, yeah

[Chorus]

The police put Pete in jail
Yes, he finally met his faith
But when they came to pay his bail
They found him choppin’ up his cell mate

[Chorus]

That Butcher Pete is a crazy man
Tries to chop down the wind and the rain
Just hacks on anything he can get
Say, turn this record over, you ain’t heard nothing yet

A Wonderful Guy by Tex Beneke

I’m as corny as Kansas in August,
I’m as normal as blueberry pie.
No more a smart little girl with no heart,
I have found me a wonderful guy!

I am in a conventional dither,
With a conventional star in my eye.
And you will note there’s a lump in my throat
When I speak of that wonderful guy!

I’m as trite and as gay as a daisy in May,
A cliché comin’ true!
I’m bromidic and bright
As a moon-happy night
Pourin’ light on the dew!

I’m as corny as Kansas in August,
High as a flag on the Fourth of July!
If you’ll excuse an expression I use,
I’m in love, I’m in love,
I’m in love, I’m in love,
I’m in love with a wonderful guy!

No more a smart little girl with no heart,
I have found me a wonderful guy!
I’m as trite and as gay as a daisy in May,
A cliché comin’ true!
I’m bromidic and bright
As a moon-happy night
Pourin’ light on the dew!

I’m as corny as Kansas in August,
High as a flag on the Fourth of July!
If you’ll excuse an expression I use,
I’m in love, I’m in love,
I’m in love, I’m in love,
I’m in love with a wonderful guy!

Crazy He Calls Me by Billie Holiday

I say I’ll move the mountains
And I’ll move the mountains
If he wants them out of the way
Crazy, he calls me
Sure I’m crazy
Crazy in love, I’d say

I say I’ll go through fire
And I’ll go through fire
As he wants it, so it shall be
Crazy, he calls me
Sure I’m crazy
Crazy in love, you see

Like the wind that shakes the bough
He moves me with a smile
The difficult I’ll do right now
The impossible will take a little while

I say I’ll care forever
And I mean forever
If I have to hold up the sky
Crazy, he calls me
Sure I’m crazy
Crazy in love am I

Civilization by Danny Kaye with the Andrews Sisters

Each morning a missionary advertise with neon sign
He tells the native population that civilization is fine
And three educated savages holler from a bongo tree
That civilization is a thing for me to see

So bongo, bongo, bongo I don’t want to leave the congo
Oh no no no no no
Bingle, bangle, bungle I’m so happy in the jungle I refuse to go
Don’t want no bright lights, false teeth, doorbells, landlords
I make it clear
That no matter how they coax him
I’ll stay right here

I looked through a magazine the missionary’s wife concealed
(Magazine? What happens?)
I see how people who are civilized bang you with automobiles
(You know you can get hurt that way Daniel)
At the movies they have to pay many coconuts to see
(What do they see Danny?)
Uncivilized pictures that the newsreels take of me

So bongo, bongo, bong he don’t want to leave the congo
Oh no no no no no
Bingle, bangle, bungle he’s so happy in the jungle he refuse to go
Don’t want no penthouse, bathtub, streetcars, taxis
Noise in my ear
So no matter how they coax him
I’ll stay right here

They hurry like savages to get aboard an iron train
And though it’s smoky and crowded they’re too civilized to complain
When they’ve got two weeks vacation they hurry to vacation grounds
(What do they do Danny)
They swim and they fish but that’s what I do all year round

So bongo, bongo, bongo I don’t want to leave the congo
Oh no no no no no
Bingle, bangle, bungle I’m so happy in the jungle I refuse to go
Don’t want no jailhouse, shotguns, fish hooks, golf clubs
I’ve got my spear
So no matter how they coax him
I’ll stay right here

They have things like the atom bomb
So I think I’ll stay where I “om”
Civilization, I’ll stay right here

Easy Living by Billie Holiday

Living for you is easy living
It’s easy to live when you’re in love
And I’m so in love
There is nothing in life but you

I never regret the years that I’m giving
They’re easy to give when you’re in love
I’m happy to do whatever I do for you

For you maybe I’m a fool
But it’s fun
People say you rule me with one wave of your hand
Darling, it’s grand
They just don’t understand

Living for you is easy living
It’s easy to live when you’re in love
And I’m so in love
There’s nothing in life but you

Happy Times by Bob Crosby & The Bobcats

Wish on the moon
And look for the gold in a rainbow
And you’ll find a happy time

You’ll hear a tune
That lives in the heart of a bluebird
And you’ll find a happy time

Though things may look very dark
Your dream is not in vein
For when do you find the rainbow?
Only after rain

So wish on the moon
And someday it may be tomorrow
You will suddenly hear chimes
And you’ll have your happy, happy time

So wish on the moon
And someday it may be tomorrow
You will suddenly hear chimes
And you’ll have your happy, happy time.

Into Each Life Some Rain Must Fall by The Ink Spots

Into each life some rain must fall
But too much is falling in mine
Into each heart some tears must fall
But some day the sun will shine

Some folks can lose the blues in their hearts
But when I think of you another shower starts
Into each life some rain must fall
But too much is falling in mine

Into each life some rain must fall
But too much, too much is fallin’ in mine
Into each heart some tears must fall
But some day the sun will shine

Some folks can lose the blues in their heart
But when I think of you another shower starts
Into each life some rain must fall
But too much is fallin’ in mine

[spoken:]
Into each and every life some rain has got to fall
But too much of that stuff is fallin’ into mine
And into each heart some tears got to fall
And I know that someday that sun is bound to shine

Some folks can lose the blues in their heart
But when I think of you another shower starts
Into each life some rain must fall
But too much is fallin’ in mine

Maybe by The Ink Spots

Maybe you’ll think of me
When you are all alone

Maybe the one who is waiting for you
Will prove untrue, then what will you do?

Maybe you’ll sit and sigh, wishing that I were near
Then maybe you’ll ask me to come back again
And maybe I’ll say maybe.

Maybe you’ll think of me
When you are all alone

Maybe the one who is waiting for you
Will prove untrue, then what will I do?

Maybe, you’ll sit and sigh, wishing that I were near
Then maybe you’ll ask me to come back again

And maybe I’ll say maybe.

[edit:  12/24/08 -- I just wanted to say thanks to those of you that have submitted corrections.  Now that I'm on vacation, I'll devote some time to verifying them and post correct lyrics in the near future.  Cheers.]

    Hey!
Thanks for the lyrics. I extracted all of the songs from PC version of the game, I plan to make a music CD with a little President Eden and Three Dog mixed in for good measure. I may eventually upload this to a filesharing site. Contact me by my unpublished email if you want a link to it when I’m done. I really love this music too.

Not sure if I should be pointing out typos in a comment, but what the heck.

In the lyrics of “Way Back Home” it’s says “the grass is the stingiest”, followed by “the bees are the stingiest”.
It should be “the grass is the springiest”.

Awesome list. Only thing I see off is the lyrics for Anything Goes are a different version than what is in the game. Here’s the full correct lyrics-

    Times have changed
And we’ve often rewound the clock
Since the Puritans got a shock
When they landed on Plymouth Rock.

    If today
Any shock they should try to stem
‘Stead of landing on Plymouth Rock,
Plymouth Rock would land on them.

In olden days, a glimpse of stocking
Was looked on as something shocking.
    But now, God knows,
    Anything goes.

Good authors too who once knew better words
    Now only use four-letter words
    Writing prose.
    Anything goes.

If driving fast cars you like,
    If low bars you like,
    If old hymns you like,
    If bare limbs you like,
    If Mae West you like,
    Or me undressed you like,
    Why, nobody will oppose.

When every night the set that’s smart is
intruding in nudist parties in studios.
    Anything goes.

When Missus Ned McLean (God bless her)
Can get Russian reds to “yes” her,
    Then I suppose
    Anything goes.

When Rockefeller still can hoard enough money
to let Max Gordon produce his shows,
    Anything goes.

The world has gone mad today
    And good’s bad today,
    And black’s white today,
    And day’s night today,
    And that gent today
    You gave a cent today
    Once had several chateaux.

When folks who still can ride in jitneys
    Find out Vanderbilts and Whitneys
    Lack baby clo’es,
    Anything goes.

If Sam Goldwyn can with great conviction
    Instruct Anna Sten in diction,
    Then Anna shows
    Anything goes.

When you hear that Lady Mendl standing up
Now turns a handspring landing up-On her toes,
    Anything goes.

Just think of those shocks you’ve got
    And those knocks you’ve got
    And those blues you’ve got
    From that news you’ve got
    And those pains you’ve got
    (If any brains you’ve got)
    From those little radios.

So Missus R., with all her trimmin’s,
Can broadcast a bed from Simmons
    ‘Cause Franklin knows
    Anything goes.

The song “Let’s Go Sunnin’” is from the 1954 movie Garden of Eden, which is about a mother and her preteen daughter finding shelter in a nudist colony. Heh, who knew. In any case, I can’t find out any more about it. Even movie sites either don’t mention it or list the composer as unknown.

    Garden of Eden on IMDB:
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0047012/

At this rate, watching the movie might be our only way to find the person who sung it. Even if the best we can get is the Actress who sung the song, that’s better than nothing.

Another odd thing, “A Wonderful Guy” is attributed to Tex Beneke, a male American saxophonist and singer. The song actually comes from the 1958 musical “South Pacific” film adaptation where it is sung by Mitzi Gaynor (Character: Nellie Forbush), unless this is a different version of the song. It’s possible Tex Beneke provided the band, but it still seems odd to me. (Especially since Tex Beneke generally does Jazz, and I don’t even hear any saxophone in the song.) O.o

So until further notice, I’m calling the song “Mitzi Gaynor – A Wonderful Guy” in my collection.

hey, cool to see someone went all the way of even writing down the lyrics.
i didn’t read them all, but i think in “mighty man” he goes “I don’t pick my jobs, I’m ready for any all the time”.

in case anybody still needs a complete list, it’s:

Billie Holiday – Crazy He Calls Me
    Billie Holiday – Easy Living
Ink Spots – I Don’t Want To Set The World On Fire
    Ink Spots – Maybe
Danny Kaye And The Andrew Sisters – Civilisation
Tex Benek – A Wonderful Guy
    Bob Crosby – Happy Times
Bob Crosby – Way Back Home
    Cole Porter – Anything Goes
    Roy Brown – Butcher Pete
    Roy Brown -Mighty Mighty Man
Ella Fitzgerald – Into Each Life Some Rain Must Fall

    Generic:
Boogie, Fox, Jazzy, Jolly, Pink, Rhythm For You, Sunning, Swingdoors

well, i guess the generic-stuff isn’t too helpful for i don’t know what the songs are really called, but on the other hand i found all of the stuff by looking for those names.

oh and yeah, fallout 3 is great ,)

Great site – want to know who sang “Let’s Go Sunnin’” and also an instrumental that sounds like Glenn Miller.

Also, someone thought it was BING instead of BOB Crosby – you can tell it is not BING when you hear both of them, one of Bing’s movies has a nice part for Bob in it -I don’t remember which that is, both leading men, another who was a partner to Bing, not Bob, were after the same girl, and one played dirty on Bing and made Bing think he had won the girl when he had not….but I think it was one of the Christmas movies…

And maybe you don’t know Bing and Bob were really brothers, and that “BACK IN THE DAY” there was a large part of time when BOB was “The Name”, and The Draw. He seemed to have been a very nice fellow, too.

Also wondering, I was trying to place, “I’m in Love With a Wonderful Guy” and didn’t recognize Mitzi Gaynor – shame on me, but is that movie the only one that song was in? I think I remember it from somewhere else, too, older, and in some of the old Musicals, it wasn’t that “Taboo” to play some of those old musical numbers in several different movies.

    Just wondering…

My mother is old enough to remember these songs from her childhood – and it was grand when she stopped in to catch me playing FO3, recognize the music and start singing along. THEN she realized I was blasting away at mega-scale radroaches and rendering raiders into a blood sausage to the tune of “I’m tickled pink ~ the moon is yellow ~” (Mom just shrugged and kept on singing along – she’s a wonderful gal!)

Talk about your oddball singalongs… Wonderful game, terrific music. Yes, I’m ecstatic there’s a renewed interest in the older music because of these games, like the first time I started singing “Maybe” when I found that little gem called Fallout, oh so many years ago…

My only disappointment is there’s no kiss to build my dreams on… ah well…

I’m sick of all the people listing the supposed ’short comings’ of the game because whatever they might be they are easily looked over in this insanely detailed and fun game.

As for the music, the contrast of camp cheesy early all American tunes are absolutely PERFECT in the brutal and oppressive world which has gone through what should of been the entire end of the human race.

My favs whilst making Super Mutant heads explode with my Lincon has to be:

Mighty, Mighty Man by Roy Brown

I’m a mighty, mighty man, I’m young and I’m in my prime
I’m a mighty, mighty man, I’m young and I’m in my prime
I don’t pick my jobs, I’m ready for any ol’ kind.

Yes, I’m a real young man, a brand new twenty-five
Oh, I’m a real young man, a brand new twenty-five
Well, I’m willing, I’m able, I’m [frantic], much alive.

    Well, I’m six-feet-tall, I ain’t no hand-me-down
    Yes, I’m six-feet-tall, and I ain’t no hand-me-down
Well, I got a gal in town who calls me Good Rockin’ Brown

    Oh, I’m a single man, I really don’t need a wife
    I’m a single man, and I really don’t need a wife
Yes, I’m gonna stay-ah this way cuz oh, what a wonderful life.

Oh, I’m a mighty man, I’m young and I’m in my prime
Yes, a mighty, mighty man, I’m young and I’m in my prime
Well, when you want me, holler and I’ll be there on time.

Well, when there’s work to do, send for the mighty one
Yes, when there’s work to do, you’d better send for the mighty one

Yeah, I’ll stay on the job, until the job is done.

These songs have a way of haunting my subconscious, in a good way! I can’t wait to load them into iTunes here at work. The circle will be complete! Seriously though, I wake up each morning with a different tune each day playing in my head. You’re doing to Lord’s work here, my good man. Thanks for listening, Children!

Not to be picky, but you said you were going to proof your article. In, “Anything Goes,” you left out a verse about Rockefeller. I don’t remember the exact words, but something to the effect of, “If Rockefeller can still afford to have someone like Max Gordon produce his shows, anything goes.” I know this because that song WON’T LEAVE MY HEAD.

in lets go sunnin there is a line missing

    the song goes like this

    Lets go sunnin
    it is good for you
    Lets go sunnin
    Beneath the sky of blue
    ???????
Feelin as free and happy as the day you´re born

The question marked line is not mentioned in your text. Upon listening to that line it sounds like “Read the sun every morning.” But I am not exactly sure.
So, does anybody knows what she is actually singing on that line?

    Times have changed,
And we’ve often rewound the clock
Since the Puritans got a shock,
When they landed on Plymouth Rock.
    If today,
Any shock they should try to stem,
‘Stead of landing on Plymouth Rock,
Plymouth Rock would land on them!

In olden days a glimpse of stocking
Was looked on as something shocking,
    But now God knows,
    Anything goes!
Good authors too who once knew better words
    Now only use four-letter words
    Writing prose,
    Anything goes!
If driving fast cars you like,
    If low bars you like,
    If old limbs you like,
    If Mae West you like,
    Or me undressed you like,
    Why nobody will oppose.
When every night the set that’s smart is
Intruding in nudist parties in studios,
    Anything goes!

When Missus Ned Mclean (God bless her)
Can get Russian Reds to “Yes” her,
    Then I suppose
    Anything goes!
When Rockefeller can still hoard enough
    Money to let Max Gordon
    Produce his shows,
    Anything goes!
The world has gone mad today,
    And good’s bad today,
    And black’s white today,
    And day’s night today,
    And that gent today
    You gave a cent today
    Once had several chateaux.
When folks who can still ride in jitneys
    Find out Vanderbilts and Whitneys
    Lack baby Clo’es,
    Anything goes!

If Sem Goldwyn can with great conviction
    Instruct Anna Sten in diction,
    Then Anna shows,

    Anything goes!

When you hear that Lady Mendl standing up
Now turns a handspring landing up –
    On her toes

    Anything goes!
Just think of those shocks you’ve got
    And those blues you’ve got
    From those news you’ve got
    And those pains you’ve got
    (If any brains you’ve got)
    From those little radios.

So Missus R., with all her trimmin’s,
Can broadcast a bed from Simmons
    ‘Cause Frankiln knows

And some [minor] corrections for Civilization:

Each morning a missionary advertise with neon sign
He tells the native population that civilization is fine
And the educated savages holler from a bamboo tree
That civilization is a thing for me to see

So bongo, bongo, bongo I don’t want to leave the Congo
Oh no no no no no
Bingle, bangle, bungle I’m so happy in the jungle I refuse to go
Don’t want no bright lights, false teeth, doorbells, landlords
    I make it clear
That no matter how they coax me
    I’ll stay right here

I looked through a magazine the missionary’s wife concealed
    (Magazine? What happens?)
I see how people who are civilized bang you with automobiles
(You know you can get hurt that way Daniel?)
At the movies they have got to pay many coconuts to see
    (What do they see Danny?)
Uncivilized pictures that the newsreels take of me

So bongo, bongo, bongo he don’t want to leave the Congo
Oh no no no no no
Bingle, bangle, bungle he’s so happy in the jungle he refuse to go
Don’t want no penthouse, bathtub, streetcars, taxis
    Noise in my ear
So no matter how they coax him
    I’ll stay right here

They hurry like savages to get aboard an iron train
And though it’s smoky and crowded they’re too civilized to complain
When they’ve got two weeks vacation they hurry to vacation grounds
    (What do they do Danny?)
They swim and they fish but that’s what I do all year round

So bongo, bongo, bongo I don’t want to leave the Congo
Oh no no no no no
Bingle, bangle, bungle I’m so happy in the jungle I refuse to go
Don’t want no jailhouse, shotguns, fish hooks, golf clubs
    I’ve got my spear
So no matter how they coax him
    I’ll stay right here

They have things like the atom bomb
So I think I’ll stay where I “om”
    Civilization, I’ll stay right here

thank you for the lyrics you are a first.

i did not expect fallout 3 to deliver like it had, i expected the “fallout experience” from 1 and 2 to be washed out in a haze of “another FPS”…

but this did not happen- fallout 3 delievers,, the full on fallout vibe, like a baseball bat to the head, and even more so..

its every fallout fanners dream come true- while being an action gamers dream FPS manefiested- where hit detection is put to the extreme with “crippled” limbs, (no FPS has done this yet except for Dead Space which has been released ruffly the same time as FO3)

and on the rare occasion that a fan of both RPG and FPS (the 2 genres tend to clash, especially concerning massivley multi player online games which fortunately FO3 has not reared an ugly head into)-

@Aize, You can find all the songs here : http://cpesant.free.fr/ this is the warning message from original path (I don’t remember where I found it) :

“This was actually created for my own personal use. I found myself singing the
GNR songs from Fallout 3 to myself over and over, so I extracted them from the
BSA’s. The tags are all based on the credits at the end of the game. The only
songs in this pack are the individual songs credited there. They are in the
same order as they appear there. Everything else was ambient music, so I chose
to leave it out. If you want all the music by Inon Zur, some of it is already
extracted for you. All you need is Fallout 3. Otherwise you can use the
Oblivion Mod Manager to open “Fallout – Sound.bsa” and extract anything under
“sounds\songs\*”. These songs were under “sounds\songs\radio\licensed\*”.
If the artist is “Original Soundtrack”, that means that the artist was not
stated by Bethesda and that is was given to them by APM Music, Inc.
    Enjoy!”

and listen to online on my personal page player:

Which version of “I Don’t Want to Set the World on Fire” is actually used in the soundtrack? I’ve been chasing it down on YouTube until I think I’d bleed that song if you poked me with a pin, and there’s a version by Horace Heidt and his Rhythm Knights (I think) that supposedly charted right after Pearl Harbor, and which sounds a lot more like what you actually hear on the soundtrack (or what I actually hear every time my husband boots up the game, which is a lot) than any of the Ink Spots recordings I’ve heard…

Just thought you might like a few corrections to Butcher Pete. Very minor but in the interest of being complete I’ll send them along. I’ve been playing this song live for at least ten years. I skimmed through the comments and didn’t see it so appologies if it’s there. Thanks for posting all of these by the way. And by the way, at the end of the song where he said “turn the record over” it’s because there is a part 2 that was on the flip side of the 78 when this was originally released. It’s WAY more risque, but fun.

…Wakes up in the morning, half past five
    Chops from sunrise to sunset
I don’t see how he stays alive
Meat’s gonna be the death of ole Pete YET

    [Chorus]

But when they came to pay his bail
They found him choppin’ up his cell mate

    FYI for you all:

Any of the game songs can be extracted from the game itself. You simply need a pogram to open BSA files, such as Fallout Mod Manager : http://timeslip.chorrol.com/fomm.html

Install it then navigate to your Fallout 3 Data folder the path should be along these lines: C:\*\Fallout3\Data , where the * folder you installed it too.

Open the sound file located in the data folder. Choose to sort by filename on the lower right.

All songs used on the radion will be tagged with this:
    song/radio/liscenced

Simply highlight the song you wish to extract and choose extact and pick a location to save it.

    Have fun!

Must say I love that my son has gotten into this game, and even more into the music!! However, that being said — the Track you have listed from BOB CROSBY, yeah – no it’s not. His name is BING CROSBY. It’s great that games are getting fantastic tracks like this in them, my son thinks they rock – who would have thought!!

    Reply to comment

    Louis Reply:

    @Jules,

I am sorry, but you are mistaken. I made the same assumption, however the game credits say BOB Crosby. He was Bing Crosby’s brother and they sound very much alike. The listing here IS correct.

And that’s not the only case on the game. My wife argued with me that it was Doris Day singing one of the songs, but I was positive that it was Ella Fitzgerald. They sound very much alike too, but the credits confirmed it was Mrs. Fitzgerald and not Mrs. Day. I don’t remember the song title and I don’t see it listed here.

Anyway, this game is fantastic and the song list is just incredible. I am glad they used such gorgeous tracks… Modern popular music stinks!

    Best song ever

Hope you enjoy the game as much as I did.

Many thanks for the song list. My friend thought the songs were made up just for FO3. I told him they are songs from the 30’s and 40’s. I’ve listened to many of them on an oldies channel on Sirius Satellite Radio. My Parents, who are in their early 70’s, recognize many of the songs. Now I can show your list to them.

Okay, you’re awsome for writing this list of songs, but I found another radiostation and some of you probably have too, It’s Agatha’s Radiostation (The lady you get Blackhawk(Scoped .44)from).
And all the searches I’ve come up with for that music just takes me to YouTube, I got a couple cause I knew the artists already.

Note: If you want Blackhawk (which you will, it kicks ass), you’ll need ‘Sheetmusic’ it will show up in your ‘Miscellaneous’ category on your Pipboy.
