iPhone: Mail crashing? iTunes Could Not Sync Bookmarks? Mail?

So I updated my iPhone from firmware 1.1.3 to 1.1.4 last night and found that Mail was constantly crashing, and Mail and my bookmarks wouldn’t sync to my iTunes. After some messing around, it became apparent that this is just a permissions problem arising from the upgrade.
Here’s how to fix it (assuming you’re Jailbroken):
ssh root@192.168.1.X (or your IP address — note: default password is “alpine”)
cd /var/mobile/Library (note: I *think* that this may be /var/root/Library on iPhones prior to 1.1.3)
chmod 0777 ./*
Simple as that. Enjoy your new firmware.

You could try jailbreaking it?

why? 2.0 is better, with more interesting features and easy access Free Apps… and I’d rather not. My point is if you’re going to solve a problem, don’t do it half assed, give a solution that fixes the problem regardless of Jailbroken or not. It’s like someone asking you where Vancouver is and you replying with ’somewhere in Canada’!

1.) You can jailbreak 2.0. I run a jailbroken 2.0 phone. I’ve paid for apps, and I have apps like ssh that you can’t download from the app store.
2.) I’m not sure what I did to make you think that I’m your personal tech support. I made a post about what I did to fix a problem that I had.
Enjoy your broken iPhone.
